Discussion on Developing a Mechanism to Conduct GCE (A/L) Practical Sessions in Schools — Zonal Education Office, Batticaloa West: 28.05.2025

A discussion was held on 28th May 2025 at the Zonal Education Office, Batticaloa West, with Mrs. T. Uthayakaran, Deputy Director of Education (Education Development), to develop a mechanism for conducting GCE (A/L) Physics practical sessions within schools, as requested by the Zonal Education Office.

Prof. P. Peratheepan, Professor of Physics, and Dr. P. Elango, Coordinator of the Community Outreach Science Unit (COSU), Faculty of Science, participated in the meeting. Following the discussion at the Zonal Office, the team visited BT/BW/Muthalaikkudah Maha Vidyalayam,where they held an in-depth discussion with the Deputy Principal and A/L Science stream teachers to finalize the proposed mechanism for conducting practical sessions at the school level.
The team also engaged with the GCE (A/L) science students to discuss their studies and gather their feedback on the proposed practical classes.
